Paul Chappius Jr.

Born:  Albion, NY

Started taking public school drum lessons in the 5th grade and continued into high school where I played snare drum in the marching band.  Got my first drum set for Christmas when I was 13, and played my first gig a week later on new years eve with my parents country band.

Previous bands:   Hardluck Express, The Ridge Runners, Defiance, Three's A Crowd, Front Page News, The Who Dats

Influential Bands:  Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Charlie Daniels Band, Marshall Tucker, Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, Boston

Influencial Drummers:  Neil Peart, Todd Sucherman, Brian Tichy, Ray Luzier, Steve Gadd, Carter Beauford,  John Bonham, Jeff Plate

 Gary Dimmick

I started at an early age taking piano lessons from my mother. She had a degree in music and taught piano and voice in our home for a living. It was John Bonham’s drumming that made me buy a drum kit in my junior high years. My dad wouldn’t let me bang the drums while he was home so I got a Sears Kent bass from a friend. I was a bedroom bass player till I got a degree in electronics and a Gibson EB0 bass. I figured being able to fix my bass amp would help.

Got a tech job in Boca Raton, FL where I met a drummer and played weekends in my first band Nasty Magic. Six years later my day job employer moved to Texas and gave me a severance check. I used that money to pay off my van, buy a new Fender Precision bass, an Ampeg SVT bass amp, and get into a full time touring band named Red Line out of Miami. We played up and down the east coast line from Daytona to Key West for two years. Best two years of my Life. Was in an originals metal band called Silent Partner until singer lost his voice from screaming.

Moved back north to where I had relatives in Williamsport, Pa area. Played in a variety of bands there: Fantasy, Light Tower, Velvet Glove, Monark, Triple Shot. In between bands I ran sound for other bands with my sound system under the name Awesome Sound Productions. In 2007 I moved back to my hometown Waverly, NY where I hooked up with classmate/guitarist Marcel Lamb in his band 605 until mid 2018.

I am glad that I am still kicking and joined this rockin’ Finger Lakes area band “Still Kickin”. It is a pleasure to play in a group that has three-part vocal harmonies, synthesizer keyboards, and two lead guitars. Oh yeah, and a drummer who reads drum music. Beat That!

Influences/heroes: Geezer Butler, John Paul Jones, Geddy Lee, Tony Banks (Genesis keys)

Bass Guitars previously owned: Kent, Gibson EB0, Fender Precision, headless Krammer, Krammer Blitz, Yamaha, Rickenbacker 4001, Fender Jazz Geddy Signature, Charvel, Ibanez SR505 white.

Bass Guitars I own now: Ibanez SR400, Ibanez SR505 Mahogany, Ibanez SR400 Fretless

Kevin Hooey

Kevin's been playing live shows since he was 14!  He's both a keyboard
and a trumpet player - currently playing Rock keyboard with "Still
Kickin" and Jazz trumpet with "Can't Count Trio". He's played countless
shows over the years, spent many years playing in local pit-orchestras,
toured with the St. Bonaventure University and Syracuse University Jazz
band as lead trumpet while earning both music and business degrees.  "I
almost went to Ithaca College for music, however made the decision I
wanted to keep music as a love, not my bread-and-butter.  I'm really
happy with the choices I made - I currently play with some incredible
musicians who are also wonderful friends."  Favorite band - Chicago.
"I'd really love to combine horns with Still Kickin' and have a
"Chicago" set available for certain venues - stay tuned!"
